Glossary

Ok - here's a list of terms and abbreviations I use in my site - some FT ones and some FT associated terms.(Note - some of these I coined myself (marked with an *) - I'm happy for others to use them - but they're my terms and I hold the conceptual copyright to them) Some are pretty self explanatory, others I'll explain a bit more - either cause they're FT terms, or because they're my own. They're all in alphabetical order

Alma or Alm'harat - the goddess of the unicorns in the FT
Alma's back (or Mare's back) - term for the wide rolling great grass plains - so called because of the following:- "When Alma created the world, most of it she made into the great grass plains, which was not a flat place, but rolling like a mare's back and covered all over with thr greencorn and the haycorn and the wild oats, knee high, so that when the wind stirred it, billowing, it looked like a mare's winter coat blowing. And that is why some called the grasslands Alma's back." -  (Chpt 1 in BoFT)
Alma's eyes (Alm'harat's thousand, thousand eyes) - the stars in the night sky

Net Mare, Net Gelding or Net Stallion* - can be used either to apply gender to a net-full grown or half grown FT unicorn or simply to describe an FT daya, non FT unicorn or equine (Net Gelding would tend to be applicable only to non FT non unicorn-equine characters or FT daya).

Scouts of Halla (SoH) - the third major unicorn tribe in the FT before they re-merged with the Moondancers who they had been seperated from, so called because they are all descended from four scouts that the princess Halla sent out to find the red dragons. Because of inbreeding, they are all stocky, short and with similar colour - dappled or roan, with dark earthen colours.
