Ok - here's a list of terms and abbreviations I use in my site - some FT ones and some FT associated terms.(Note - some of these I coined myself (marked with an *) - I'm happy for others to use them - but they're my terms and I hold the conceptual copyright to them) Some are pretty self explanatory, others I'll explain a bit more - either cause they're FT terms, or because they're my own. They're all in alphabetical order
Alma
or Alm'harat - the goddess of the unicorns in the FT
Alma's
back (or Mare's back) - term for the wide rolling great grass plains -
so called because of the following:- "When Alma created the world, most
of it she made into the great grass plains, which was not a flat place,
but rolling like a mare's back and covered all over with thr greencorn
and the haycorn and the wild oats, knee high, so that when the wind stirred
it, billowing, it looked like a mare's winter coat blowing. And that is
why some called the grasslands Alma's back." - (Chpt 1 in BoFT)
